Influences

My interest in poetry and lyrics started as a young child when my father read to me the classics… Shakespeare, Robert Frost and Edgar Allen Poe as bedtime stories. A continued dialogue with my dad through original poetry, combined with lessons in dance, piano and voice, and exposure to an eclectic range of music has influenced my artistic career.

I have sung and performed at various venues in Chicago, Los Angeles and throughout the Southwest as a solo featured act or with one of the many vocal groups that I assembled, arranged for and directed.

It was the encouragement that I received from a Professor in Music Theory while getting my Bachelor of Music in Applied Voice at Northwestern University School of Music that led to my eventual pursuit of composing, arranging and music direction. After moving to Los Angeles, I studied Film Composing at UCLA’s Extension Certificate Program under the direction of the late Don Ray. I continued private studies with Film and Television composers/arrangers, Hummie Mann and mentor, the late, Don James.

Passions

Songwriting, composing, music direction, and coaching are artistic passions and such a part of all of my artistic endeavors. Many projects have been simmering for a few years that I hope to follow through with in the near future.
