Teaching Resumé
I have been teaching voice and working as a voice coach and music director for over 40 years. I have a degree in Applied Voice from Northwestern University School of Music, studied vocal pedagogy, years of experience as a professional singer and years of experience teaching one-on-one lessons as well as have been mentored by master voice teachers on how to hear vocal issues and then correct. I was trained classically using primarily the Bel Canto technique and then for several years studied under Ron Anderson (one of the top voice teachers of the stars) on how to cross over classical technique to modern genres of music keeping good vocal health.
Online Teaching / Coaching
I am teaching and coaching online as well. Preparation on both sides is a major key to a successful on-line lesson. The required preparation will be discussed in advance to any lessons.
Goals And Approaches
My first goal of any student is to assure healthy vocal technique, developing and strengthening the voice and range, developing correct breath usage and management, and outstanding musicianship. With years as a performer, having studied Film Composing and Arranging, being an accomplished pianist, trained in acting and having done musical direction, I can also work extensively on development of repertoire, performance skills, and encourage each singer to develop their own voice and style in the direction they envision.
